The narration of Lozey (Ballad) has long been popular among Layaps, who have made several recordings aimed to preserve this tradition. Ballads are normally performed between groups or as a competition between genders, for leisure or during the construction of traditional houses. Though Pema Yangchen is a lone participant here, her ballad include both antagonizing and befriending lyrics of the ballad, demanding reponses from her opponent. Hence, the lyrics of the ballad antagonizes the opponent for their defeat.
