Ap Ugyen Dorji from Galing learned this alo song from Geshé Pema Tinlé, a Buddhist scholar and spiritual master who studied in Tibet. The song is sung with an alo tune, which is usually associated with melancholy and worldly affairs. The lyrics are nevertheless joyful and religious. The song states that drinking holy water from a particular sacred vase leads to liberation from the samsara. In the past, it was sung as an offering to spiritual masters at the occasion of their arrival in a village or a temple. It is generally believed that offering this song to a spiritual master is the cause for rebirth as goddess of offering.
