Aum Chimi and her friend from Langmikha village in Paro District sing the “Prayer for Longevity of Sharchog Pel” (Sharchok Pelkyi Zhapten), a religious zhungdra song. The song expresses an offering to the five Buddhas for the sake of the welfare of all sentient beings. These Buddhas represent various facets of awakening and are great healers of the mind and body. They are our guides to spiritual transformation. Each Buddha rules over one of the cardinal directions (and one rules the center), as well as one cosmic realm of space, water, earth, fire or air.
